New year, new you and all that jazz has me trying to eat a bit better. Especially as I'm getting older. Sniff, sniff.
First up, a juice cleanse. I read several reviews about various companies and narrowed it down to Plenish Juice. I read the green juice was pretty unpleasant, but Plenish stocks juices in Harvey Nichols so I could at least try it before I committed. The green juice wasn't as bad as I feared so I went ahead and ordered a 1 day cleanse.
It didn't go well. My body needs actual chewable food to sustain itself. I seriously felt so sick and had the worst headache. It was the norovirus minus the actually being sick part. I did drink some of the juices, but also ate vegetables. I could barely eat because I felt so bad. Some of the juice flavours didn't help. I saved those for the husband to finish. However, I have lost my sugar cravings which was the main goal.
Next up, The Good Life Eatery.
The Good Life is way too close to work to be good for my wallet. The juices are delicious, the protein smoothies are too and the chia pudding is heavenly. Slightly pricey, but you are getting fresh, healthy food.
Finally, The Detox Kitchen at Harvey Nichols. I don't have a picture, but £7 gets you a salad box which you can fill with as many varieties as you desire. I tried three and couldn't even finish the box. Everything is wheat free, dairy free, and sugar free.
